Car Loan with no credit? If so, how bad is the interest?

I'd like to get a loan for say, $35k, or even better; a blank check. Capital One I know does blank checks, but I'm not sure if they take people with no credit history. I have no credit history and I'm wondering if I can get a loan this way and what the interest rates will be like. Anyone know?

If you've never had credit before, you won't get a loan for $35,000.

One friend with no credit history who applied for a car loan (legal immigrants) got an interest rate of 15% for a brand new Ford Focus, while another got 21% for a Honda.

With no credit history, interest rates are really bad. What my friend did was to pay off the loan in 1.5 years instead of 5 to escape the high interest rates.

Prosper.com might be one route to take. It allows you to take out loans that are funded by people. It's cheaper than a bank, it's legal, and good for people with no credit history.

Also, be sure to avoid any of the scammers that like to post their e-mail addresses here on Yahoo! Answers saying that they'll give you a loan. Genuine bankers don't have e-mail addresses with free providers like Yahoo, Hotmail, or GMail. And they're typically not located in foreign countries.

the interest wud be high, but if you opt for a secured car loan then the interest wud be little low

You can get bad credit car loan as either secured or unsecured. Secured bad credit car loan comes with the threefold benefit of low interest rate and increased repayment term and huge principal. But this type of loan requires you to offer your property as collateral. Your home is at risk if you fail to pay the monthly installment. But this is not permanent and holds true only if you miss or delay your repayment.

This type of risk is absent in an unsecured bad credit car loan. However, if you miss any payment, your lender can file a legal case against you. As you do not offer any collateral, you have to pay higher rate of interest.

The fact is buying a car for most people is one of the biggest purchases they will ever make. Owning a car is kind of like a right of passage for a lot of people, and definitely a sign of %26quot;coming of age%26quot; for most teenagers--%26gt; Let face it, we all need a reliable car to get around, and most of us would rather drive a nice new or late car than an old bomb.
