How could I get a car loan without having %26quot;good%26quot; credit. I do not have bad credit....i have no credit. I have been at my job for 6 months and I only make $6.60 per hour part time, however that is not enough to get approved. I live with my parents and I do not have any bills. I am looking for a used car for no more than $8000. Any ideas?

You CAN get a decent car loan, even with bad or no credit. I've done it, but you'll have to look around. Shop around for lenders who specialize in bad credit car loans.

I was in your position a few years ago...I was just entering college, didn't make much money, and had no credit.

You can have your parents co-sign on a loan for you because of your limited credit history. This will enable you to obtain a loan. (Get a loan from a credit union, NOT a big band and NOT the dealership....credit unions are more flexible and lenient with regard to granting loans, and will give you a lower interest rate)

If you're parents wont co-sign or you want to get the car on your own and have time to wait, then apply for a student credit card, one with a very small limit, like $1500, and use it for necessary things like gas, food, etc. If you keep it for awhile, at least 6 months, pay the balance off in time every month, you will start to develop good credit.

Once you apply for the loan at a credit union in 6 months they will see that you are responsible and will grant you a loan!

Unfortunately I ran myself into excess credit card debt but I'm sure you're may more mature than I was :)

For that small of an amount, the dealership where you buy the car from should be able to find financing for you. If you pay monthly installments faithfully, or pay for it ahead of time, you will up your credit rating. Good luck.

You could ask your parents to co-sign. Also, here in Michigan, they have several places that finance everyone as long as they have a job and 3 months on the job.

well this may take about 2-3 years to do but it would be the best way i can think of to establish your credit in a good way:

1.) get a in store credit card to a shop you frequent alot ( wallmart, Target, Best Buy, Circuit City....etc) and make some small to medium level purchases on it ( average price range for the items would be $20-45 dollars tops) and make sure the balance on the card including interest on it is paid in full each month when the bill comes and that should establish your credit as good or put you on a good start to it

that will reflect well on your credit rating and show the credit finance companies that you are doing well with your finances and are a decent credit risk and may grant you a line of credit of between $3,000 and $5,000 and what i mentioned above would really help that become reality

I have 'no credit' ( no cards, no debt) and I couldn't even get a cellphone plan without paying some fee upfront to insure that I wont bail on them, which I found to be offensive but they have to protect their money. So I don't think it can even happen, especially not so young (You can't even rent a car until your 21 where I am)

Here is a little known secret that should help you. Have someone you know such as a parent or other family member put you as a signer on one of their credit cards that have a high credit limit. They won't actually give you a card, but this is a way to cheat. Then you will have the same credit score from that card as the person who put you on that card. It is kind of like sponging off of someone elses credit score. This will also enable you to get some credit cards of your own.

Your best bet is to get your parent or other person with good credit to co-sign with you. You will get a better rate that way.

Be wary of those %26quot;anyone financed%26quot; places because the interest rates are usually very high.

Maybe you should lower your desire for a car -- maybe something like $4k instead. The payments would be more reasonable given that you don't make much more than that a year... Remember that you need to account for gas, insurance, and maintenance too... Don't put all of your money into just the car payment!

After you have a less expensive car for a few years, and have the opportunity to build up your credit, then you can get a nicer car on your own.
